Business-minded Designer, Product person, and CX Evangelist
10 years experience doing the following across a mix of design/product-related roles:
Industry expertise in:
Helping to define market-leading human and AI-powered services at Intuit Mailchimp.
I recently joined the Service & Experience Design team at Sparks Grove, where I help mentor junior designers, and do more Service/Experience Design work for clients.
Service & Interaction Designer - Fjord (October 2017 - January 2020)I was part of the Service and Interaction Design team at Fjord, where I did design and innovation work for our clients. This role wass equal parts leading research and discovery sessions, as well as communicating aspirational, visionary design concepts through wireframes, prototypes, and POCs. In addition, I also spent a good bit of time tinkering around in our Makeshop, and helping Fjord better engage with the external community at large.
I joined the Miami office shortly after graduation, and came on to build up the office’s prototyping practice, in an effort to be more nimble and iterative and incorporate a more user-centered design process for the clients we serve. One of the first projects I worked on was helping build the winning pitch for an omni-channel booking redesign for Universal Orlando. I’d later help build postrelease updates for the Miami Heat app, and have lately been helping make Carnival Cruise Lines’ booking experience more intuitive and easy to use.
I taught two sections of English 1030: Accelerated Composition my last year of Grad School. The course focuses on giving students critical thinking and writing skills that they then applied towards creating a variety of print and digital projects throughout the semester. As a GTR, I was responsible for creating lesson plans and projects focusing on rhetorical analysis, collaborative writing, composing in the real world and multimedia authoring.
I was fortunate enough to work on a variety of cool projects while at Clemson in a consultative capacity for several clients and startups around town. Among them, helping launch the brand for a sportfishing news aggregate site based out of Gainesville, FL, and leading the redesign of a number of facilities pages on campus migrating over to Drupal.
During my first year at Clemson, I had a graduate assistantship in the MATRF, a digital media lab on campus. I helped maintain the lab during open hours, assisted faculty and students with technical problems, and led a series of workshops on the Adobe Creative Suite series, including Dreamweaver and Illlustrator CC. We also worked in an agency setting for Departments within the College, maintained Department websites using Cascade CMS, and created a variety of rich media - like testimonial videos, photos, and graphics - for clients around town.
